September is here, and for many, that means school is back in session!
This Geocache of the Week, Kindergarten (GCAYECB), sends geocachers back to the basics: Kindergarten, to be exact. But this isn’t quite the school day you remember. Instead of practicing your ABCs, you’ll attend eight hands-on “classes” on your way to the all-important final exam.
And yes, there’s extra credit.
Just like a student staring out the classroom window, Kindergarten began with a little daydreaming. During a slow afternoon at work, ShareBear64 started designing this ambitious escape-room-style geocache. With help from her brother, jerryrigged61, and the Strathearn Historical Park and Museum, that daydream eventually became a full-scale cache remarkably true to her original design.
Despite its size, the cache blends right into its surroundings, disguised as an interpretive sign featuring ShareBear64’s custom-painted depiction of the area’s first schoolhouse. Open the back of the “sign,” and class is officially in session.
ShareBear64 earns an A+ for her clever design. Eight locks guard eight themed activities, including Music Class, Nap Time, Story Time, Blocks, and Arts-N-Crafts. Geocachers work their way through an assortment of puzzles, ciphers, and brain teasers using everything from scissors and paper to a xylophone, jigsaw puzzle, and even carpet squares for nap time.
Finally, geocachers must put everything they’ve learned to the test, pass the final exam, earn their Kindergarten diploma, and sign the logbook.
But overachievers aren’t finished yet. Optional extra credit gives particularly enthusiastic students the chance to earn the coveted title of “Teacher’s Pet.”
For ShareBear64, however, Kindergarten is about more than building a complicated puzzle. After more than ten years of geocaching, a hobby that originally began as motivation to exercise has become a creative outlet—and a source of lasting friendships. Kindergarten is her way of giving a little of that joy back.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
